Woodcuts

The 1947 Vandercook proofing press that once stood in the composing room at The Yolla Bolly Press is now in my Santa Cruz studio and in use for woodcut prints. It is the same press that I began using in 1982 while proofing metal type for limited-edition books published by the Press.

The woodcuts are printed using layers of color from multiple blocks. Click on any image below for a slideshow, or visit the Archive for more information about each print.
